About Co Kids Childcare
At Co Kids, we believe early childhood should feel joyful, nurturing and full of discovery. Our vision is to create a place where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn. Through thoughtful teaching and engaging experiences, we support each child to grow with confidence, curiosity and a strong sense of self.
Our approach is built on respectful relationships and a deep understanding of how children naturally develop. Inspired by the RIE philosophy and the work of Emmi Pikler, we give children the time and freedom to move, explore and learn at their own pace. Rather than relying on restrictive equipment, we create environments where children can develop their physical skills naturally and build confidence in their abilities.
Care moments such as nappy changes, meals and rest times are treated as important opportunities for connection. Teachers take the time to communicate with children, involve them in what is happening and respond to them with care and respect. These everyday interactions help build strong, trusting relationships.
As children grow, we encourage independence, creativity and a love of learning. Children are given meaningful choices and are invited, rather than required, to participate in group experiences. Small group interactions help develop conversation skills, turn taking and respect for others, while allowing each child’s personality and interests to shine.
We know that the best outcomes for children happen when families and teachers work closely together. At Co Kids we value these partnerships and believe they are the foundation of a supportive and connected community where children can truly thrive.
Why Parents Enroll with Us:
Learning Environment
Our centre features bright, open learning spaces designed to feel calm, welcoming and full of possibility. Children are encouraged to explore, discover and learn at their own pace in an environment that supports curiosity, confidence and a sense of belonging.
Our Approach to Learning
For our youngest children we follow the RIE philosophy, which focuses on respectful, responsive care and building secure relationships. For children over three we are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, encouraging creativity, exploration and learning through play, conversation and discovery.

We aim to maintain excellent teacher-to-child ratios during our peak learning times so children receive the attention, care and support they need throughout the day.
Under 1 -1 teacher to 3 children
Under 2 - 1 teacher to 4 children
Over 2 -1 teacher to 6 children
Over 3 - 1 teacher to 8 children

In our Babies Room, you'll find:
A calm and nurturing environment where babies feel safe, settled and supported as they grow and develop. Experienced and caring teachers who take the time to build strong relationships with each child and provide thoughtful, individualised care. A variety of engaging toys and sensory experiences that encourage curiosity, discovery and early learning.
A safe and secure space designed especially for babies, allowing them to explore and play comfortably without the busy pace of older children.
For our Toddlers and Preschoolers, you'll find:
Our centre has thoughtfully designed individual classrooms along with two spacious shared play areas where children can come together. This approach helps minimise unnecessary transitions and creates a calm, settled environment where children feel comfortable and confident throughout their day. These shared spaces create wonderful opportunities for children to learn from one another and build meaningful relationships. They encourage siblings to spend time together during the day, allow older children to naturally support and guide younger peers, and give younger children the chance to observe and learn from confident role models.
Through these everyday interactions, children develop empathy, kindness and a strong sense of community alongside their teachers and friends.
Growing Minds, Nurturing Futures: A Home for Learning and Play
At the heart of our centre is a welcoming kitchen where our onsite cook prepares fresh, healthy, and nutritious meals daily. Our babies and toddlers enjoy a beautiful outdoor space on the east end of the centre, providing a playful setting for exploration. Our dedicated team of passionate teachers is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and emotionally supportive atmosphere for our young learners. In the preschool area, we prepare children for school through play-based activities, focusing on early literacy, numeracy, and writing skills. Engaging games, activities, and songs promote foundational knowledge of alphabet recognition and phonics, enhancing language skills and building a solid foundation for reading and writing.
